Uralkali is among Russia's largest chemical companies and one of the world’s leading producers of mineral fertilisers. We specialise primarily in producing potash fertilisers (potassium chloride). The company was founded in 1930 as a state-owned enterprise, and was reincorporated as a joint-stock company in 1992. In 2007, we became Russia’s first public company in the chemical sector, with shares listed on the RTS, MICEX and LSE stock exchanges. We now rank among Russia's top 30 companies in capitalisation, based on the ratings assigned to large Russian companies by the country's leading periodicals. We hold approximately 10% of the global market for potassium chloride. Belarusian Potash Company (BPC), a joint trader of Uralkali and Belaruskali, is the world leader in the export sales of potash fertilisers. We export more than 90% of our products, mainly to China, Brazil, South-East Asia and India, which are the most promising and rapidly developing potash markets, and where we hold leading positions. Our sales in Russia account for around 10% of total output. We also sell to Europe, Africa, the Middle East and USA. Our major production facilities are in the town of Berezniki in the Perm Territory (two mines and four enrichment plants) and Saint Petersburg (Baltic Bulk Terminal, a wholly-owned subsidiary). Our ore reserves are located in the Verkhnekamskoye potassium and magnesium salt field (VPMSF), which is the world’s second largest proven field, containing more than 3.8 billion tonnes of potash ore. Uralkali holds the license for developing an additional (Ust-Yaivinskoye) area of VPMSF. Access to relatively inexpensive energy and labour resources makes Uralkali one of the most high-yield and low-cost producers of potash fertilisers in the world. Image(33.31 ÊÁ) |
